From 5 October 2025, the Archaeological Museum of Lilibeo will host CHaRMED – Cultural Heritage and Environment: Resources, Materials and Devices, an initiative promoted by the SAMOTHRACE Foundation.
For five days, students and professionals will engage with national and international experts through lectures, hands‑on workshops, and field activities, exploring the latest innovations in diagnostics, conservation, and environmental and cultural monitoring.
Topics will range from Raman spectroscopy and nuclear techniques to innovative materials from renewable sources, the use of essential oils to counter biodeterioration, advanced IoT and sensor-based solutions, and issues related to colour preservation and the perception of authenticity in historical collections.
The programme will also include insights into technology transfer models and sustainability strategies for cultural heritage.
A unique opportunity to develop new skills and promote the conscious and sustainable protection of our cultural and environmental heritage.
