EC 62443: CYBERSECURITY IN THE INTERCONNECTED ENTERPRISE – 1st Edition October 2025
The Samothrace Foundation is pleased to announce the online specialized training course IEC 62443: Cybersecurity in the Interconnected Enterprise, fully funded by the ecosystem, aiming to extend and strengthen specialized professional skills in the sector.
The course is delivered by Bureau Veritas Italia, a recognized training institution. At the end of the course, a Bureau Veritas Certificate of Attendance will be issued to all participants.
Course Details:
Total Duration: 16 hours.
Delivery Mode: The course will be held via synchronous video lessons. It is also possible to enroll after the start date and attend the past training hours in asynchronous mode.
Schedule: The course begins on October 28, 2025. Lessons will be held for 4 hours, two days a week, in the afternoon.
Cost: Free.
Maximum Participants: 10.
How to Apply:
Eligibility: Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent/higher qualification.
Application: To apply, you must complete the online application form.
Application Deadline: October 14, 2025, at 11:59 PM.
Selection Process:
After verifying eligibility, a ranking list will be formed based on the chronological order of application submission. In any case, 2/3 of the available places will be reserved for employees and/or collaborators of partner entities or companies of the Samothrace ecosystem, with priority given to employees and/or collaborators of the Foundation’s members. The official ranking list for participation will be communicated by the Foundation, through publication on its website, on October 18, 2025.
Course Program:
The course is structured to provide a comprehensive understanding of industrial cybersecurity according to the IEC 62443 standard.
Module 1: Fundamentals of Cybersecurity: Introduction to assets, vulnerabilities, and threats.
Module 2: Industrial Context: Differences between Information Technology and Operation Technology, and control system architectures. Evolution of the industrial context and reference standards.
Module 3: Threats and Scenarios: Analysis of attack surfaces, penetration methods, threats, and possible consequences.
Module 4: The IEC 62443 Regulatory Model: The organic management of security (Reliability, Availability, Safety).
Module 5: Integration between Security and Safety: Connection with the IEC 61511 and 61508 models.
Module 6: Risk Assessment and Classification: Operational methodologies for risk assessment. Classification of industrial systems: zones, conduits, requirements, and security levels.
Module 7: Management and Verification: The CSMS management model for Security. Verification of system protection capabilities through logic and experimental testing methods.
Module 8: Practical Cases: Presentation of applied examples of the IEC 62443 standard on concrete production processes.
